Happy Thanksgiving week, friends. The past few months have been a bit of a whirlwind professionally and personally and I feel like I’m only just now catching my breath – and looking forward to luxurious little staycation and a few days off while my mom is in town with me for the holiday.
Most of all – and I know it’s corny, and I’m not just saying this because it’s Thanksgiving – I’m feeling thankful, thankful, thankful right now. For my friends, my family, my home, my job, my health, my bunny, and a life that I’ve made entirely my own. Alright, that’s enough sincerity for now!
I’ve been in the mood for warm and fuzzy holiday viewing lately, and I’ve been enjoying, among other things, Netflix’s incredibly simplistic yes satisfying Knight Before Christmas and Hulu’s Dollface. It’s not technically a holiday show, but Dollface does span Thanksgiving and Christmas, and it’s an easy, breezy binge watch about four 20-something women in LA that still manages to pack quite a emotional few punches (Jules’ journey of rediscovering female friendships and navigating the world after a long-term relationship was particularly relatable!) I’ve been a fan of Esther Povitsky since Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, but I found myself particularly impressed with Shay Mitchell’s easy comedic sensibilities and Brenda Song’s dramatic chops, completely enamored by Kat Denning’s strategic wardrobe choices as a fellow busty lady, and reminded that my teenage crush on Criminal Minds’ Matthew Gray Gubler has very much informed my taste in men as an adult – which is probably a good thing and a bad thing!
Random thoughts:
I have been looking forward to seeing Queen & Slim for months, and I’m super excited for Knives Out, too. Am I movies gal now??
Kurtis Conner’s videos have cured my depression (see also the above note about my taste in men. Whoops!)
It be like that sometimes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
On that bummer of a note, here’s an absolute bop!
Hope you have a lovely holiday week, however you choose to spend it.
